75. Al-Qiyamaالقيامة

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ١1

   I swear by the Day of Resurrection

   Listen from ayah 1
2. وَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلنَّفْسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ٢2

   And I swear by the reproaching soul^[1800] [to the certainty of resurrection].

   Listen from ayah 2
3. أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ٣3

   Does man think that We will not assemble his bones?

   Listen from ayah 3
4. بَلَىٰ قَـٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّىَ بَنَانَهُۥ٤4

   Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips.

   Listen from ayah 4
5. بَلْ يُرِيدُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ٥5

   But man desires to continue in sin.^[1801]

   Listen from ayah 5
6. يَسْـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ٦6

   He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?"

   Listen from ayah 6
7. فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلْبَصَرُ٧7

   So when vision is dazzled

   Listen from ayah 7
8. وَخَسَفَ ٱلْقَمَرُ٨8

   And the moon darkens

   Listen from ayah 8
9. وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ٩9

   And the sun and the moon are joined,

   Listen from ayah 9
10. يَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ ٱلْمَفَرُّ١٠10

    Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?"

    Listen from ayah 10
11. كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ١١11

    No! There is no refuge.

    Listen from ayah 11
12. إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمُسْتَقَرُّ١٢12

    To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence.

    Listen from ayah 12
13. يُنَبَّؤُا۟ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ١٣13

    Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead^[1802] and kept back.^[1803]

    Listen from ayah 13
14. بَلِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٌ١٤14

    Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness,^[1804]

    Listen from ayah 14
15. وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ١٥15

    Even if he presents his excuses.

    Listen from ayah 15
16. لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓ١٦16

    Move not your tongue with it, [O Muḥammad], to hasten with it [i.e., recitation of the Qur’ān].

    Listen from ayah 16
17. إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُۥ وَقُرْءَانَهُۥ١٧17

    Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation.

    Listen from ayah 17
18. فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَـٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعْ قُرْءَانَهُۥ١٨18

    So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation.

    Listen from ayah 18
19. ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُۥ١٩19

    Then upon Us is its clarification [to you].

    Listen from ayah 19
20. كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ٢٠20

    No! But you [i.e., mankind] love the immediate

    Listen from ayah 20
21. وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ٢١21

    And leave [i.e., neglect] the Hereafter.

    Listen from ayah 21
22. وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ٢٢22

    [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant,

    Listen from ayah 22
23. إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ٢٣23

    Looking at their Lord.^[1805]

    Listen from ayah 23
24. وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَاسِرَةٌ٢٤24

    And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted,

    Listen from ayah 24
25. تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ٢٥25

    Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking.

    Listen from ayah 25
26. كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِىَ٢٦26

    No! When it [i.e., the soul] has reached the collar bones^[1806]

    Listen from ayah 26
27. وَقِيلَ مَنْۜ رَاقٍ٢٧27

    And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?"

    Listen from ayah 27
28. وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلْفِرَاقُ٢٨28

    And he [i.e., the dying one] is certain that it is the [time of] separation

    Listen from ayah 28
29. وَٱلْتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ٢٩29

    And the leg is wound about the leg,^[1807]

    Listen from ayah 29
30. إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمَسَاقُ٣٠30

    To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession.^[1808]

    Listen from ayah 30
31. فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ٣١31

    And he [i.e., the disbeliever] had not believed, nor had he prayed.

    Listen from ayah 31
32. وَلَـٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ٣٢32

    But [instead], he denied and turned away.

    Listen from ayah 32
33. ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ٣٣33

    And then he went to his people, swaggering [in pride].

    Listen from ayah 33
34. أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ٣٤34

    Woe to you, and woe!

    Listen from ayah 34
35. ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰٓ٣٥35

    Then woe to you, and woe!

    Listen from ayah 35
36. أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى٣٦36

    Does man think that he will be left neglected?^[1809]

    Listen from ayah 36
37. أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِّن مَّنِىٍّ يُمْنَىٰ٣٧37

    Had he not been a sperm from semen emitted?

    Listen from ayah 37
38. ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ٣٨38

    Then he was a clinging clot, and [Allāh] created [his form] and proportioned [him]

    Listen from ayah 38
39. فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ٣٩39

    And made of him two mates, the male and the female.

    Listen from ayah 39
40. أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَـٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْـِۧىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ٤٠40

    Is not that [Creator] Able to give life to the dead?

    Listen from ayah 40
