51. Adh-Dhariyatالذاريات

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. وَٱلذَّٰرِيَـٰتِ ذَرْوًا١1

   By the [winds] scattering [dust], dispersing [it]

   Listen from ayah 1
2. فَٱلْحَـٰمِلَـٰتِ وِقْرًا٢2

   And the [clouds] carrying a load [of water]

   Listen from ayah 2
3. فَٱلْجَـٰرِيَـٰتِ يُسْرًا٣3

   And the ships sailing with ease

   Listen from ayah 3
4. فَٱلْمُقَسِّمَـٰتِ أَمْرًا٤4

   And the [angels] apportioning [each] matter,

   Listen from ayah 4
5. إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِقٌ٥5

   Indeed, what you are promised is true.

   Listen from ayah 5
6. وَإِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ لَوَٰقِعٌ٦6

   And indeed, the recompense is to occur.

   Listen from ayah 6
7. وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْحُبُكِ٧7

   By the heaven containing pathways,^[1535]

   Listen from ayah 7
8. إِنَّكُمْ لَفِى قَوْلٍ مُّخْتَلِفٍ٨8

   Indeed, you are in differing speech.^[1536]

   Listen from ayah 8
9. يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ٩9

   Deluded away from it [i.e., the Qur’ān] is he who is deluded.

   Listen from ayah 9
10. قُتِلَ ٱلْخَرَّٰصُونَ١٠10

    Destroyed are the misinformers^[1537]

    Listen from ayah 10
11. ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍ سَاهُونَ١١11

    Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless.

    Listen from ayah 11
12. يَسْـَٔلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ١٢12

    They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?"

    Listen from ayah 12
13. يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ١٣13

    [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire

    Listen from ayah 13
14. ذُوقُوا۟ فِتْنَتَكُمْ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ١٤14

    [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient."

    Listen from ayah 14
15. إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ١٥15

    Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs,

    Listen from ayah 15
16. ءَاخِذِينَ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُحْسِنِينَ١٦16

    Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good.

    Listen from ayah 16
17. كَانُوا۟ قَلِيلًا مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ١٧17

    They used to sleep but little of the night,^[1538]

    Listen from ayah 17
18. وَبِٱلْأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ١٨18

    And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness,

    Listen from ayah 18
19. وَفِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ حَقٌّ لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَٱلْمَحْرُومِ١٩19

    And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived.

    Listen from ayah 19
20. وَفِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ءَايَـٰتٌ لِّلْمُوقِنِينَ٢٠20

    And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith]

    Listen from ayah 20
21. وَفِىٓ أَنفُسِكُمْۚ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ٢١21

    And in yourselves. Then will you not see?

    Listen from ayah 21
22. وَفِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ رِزْقُكُمْ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ٢٢22

    And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised.

    Listen from ayah 22
23. فَوَرَبِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِنَّهُۥ لَحَقٌّ مِّثْلَ مَآ أَنَّكُمْ تَنطِقُونَ٢٣23

    Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking.

    Listen from ayah 23
24. هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَ٢٤24

    Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham?^[1539] -

    Listen from ayah 24
25. إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَـٰمًاۖ قَالَ سَلَـٰمٌ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ٢٥25

    When they entered upon him and said, "[We greet you with] peace." He answered, "[And upon you] peace; [you are] a people unknown."

    Listen from ayah 25
26. فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ فَجَآءَ بِعِجْلٍ سَمِينٍ٢٦26

    Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf.

    Listen from ayah 26
27. فَقَرَّبَهُۥٓ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ٢٧27

    And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?"

    Listen from ayah 27
28. فَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةًۖ قَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْۖ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَـٰمٍ عَلِيمٍ٢٨28

    And he felt from them apprehension.^[1540] They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy.

    Listen from ayah 28
29. فَأَقْبَلَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ فِى صَرَّةٍ فَصَكَّتْ وَجْهَهَا وَقَالَتْ عَجُوزٌ عَقِيمٌ٢٩29

    And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman!"

    Listen from ayah 29
30. قَالُوا۟ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ٣٠30

    They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing."

    Listen from ayah 30
31. قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ٣١31

    [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?"

    Listen from ayah 31
32. قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ٣٢32

    They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals^[1541]

    Listen from ayah 32
33. لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن طِينٍ٣٣33

    To send down upon them stones of clay,

    Listen from ayah 33
34. مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ٣٤34

    Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors."

    Listen from ayah 34
35. فَأَخْرَجْنَا مَن كَانَ فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ٣٥35

    So We brought out whoever was in them [i.e., the cities] of the believers.

    Listen from ayah 35
36. فَمَا وَجَدْنَا فِيهَا غَيْرَ بَيْتٍ مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ٣٦36

    And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims.^[1542]

    Listen from ayah 36
37. وَتَرَكْنَا فِيهَآ ءَايَةً لِّلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ٣٧37

    And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment.

    Listen from ayah 37
38. وَفِى مُوسَىٰٓ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ٣٨38

    And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority.^[1543]

    Listen from ayah 38
39. فَتَوَلَّىٰ بِرُكْنِهِۦ وَقَالَ سَـٰحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ٣٩39

    But he turned away with his supporters and said, "A magician or a madman."

    Listen from ayah 39
40. فَأَخَذْنَـٰهُ وَجُنُودَهُۥ فَنَبَذْنَـٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ٤٠40

    So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy.

    Listen from ayah 40
41. وَفِى عَادٍ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلرِّيحَ ٱلْعَقِيمَ٤١41

    And in ʿAad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind.^[1544]

    Listen from ayah 41
42. مَا تَذَرُ مِن شَىْءٍ أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتْهُ كَٱلرَّمِيمِ٤٢42

    It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins.

    Listen from ayah 42
43. وَفِى ثَمُودَ إِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَمَتَّعُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ٤٣43

    And in Thamūd, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time."

    Listen from ayah 43
44. فَعَتَوْا۟ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّـٰعِقَةُ وَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ٤٤44

    But they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on.

    Listen from ayah 44
45. فَمَا ٱسْتَطَـٰعُوا۟ مِن قِيَامٍ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنتَصِرِينَ٤٥45

    And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves.

    Listen from ayah 45
46. وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ مِّن قَبْلُۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا فَـٰسِقِينَ٤٦46

    And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient.

    Listen from ayah 46
47. وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بَنَيْنَـٰهَا بِأَيْي۟دٍ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ٤٧47

    And the heaven We constructed with strength,^[1545] and indeed, We are [its] expander.

    Listen from ayah 47
48. وَٱلْأَرْضَ فَرَشْنَـٰهَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْمَـٰهِدُونَ٤٨48

    And the earth We have spread out, and excellent is the preparer.

    Listen from ayah 48
49. وَمِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقْنَا زَوْجَيْنِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ٤٩49

    And of all things We created two mates [i.e., counterparts]; perhaps you will remember.

    Listen from ayah 49
50. فَفِرُّوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِۖ إِنِّى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ٥٠50

    So flee to Allāh.^[1546] Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner.

    Listen from ayah 50
51. وَلَا تَجْعَلُوا۟ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَۖ إِنِّى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ٥١51

    And do not make [as equal] with Allāh another deity. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner.

    Listen from ayah 51
52. كَذَٰلِكَ مَآ أَتَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا قَالُوا۟ سَاحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ٥٢52

    Similarly, there came not to those before them any messenger except that they said, "A magician or a madman."

    Listen from ayah 52
53. أَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِهِۦۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ٥٣53

    Did they suggest it to them?^[1547] Rather, they [themselves] are a transgressing people.

    Listen from ayah 53
54. فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِمَلُومٍ٥٤54

    So leave them, [O Muḥammad], for you are not to be blamed.

    Listen from ayah 54
55. وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ تَنفَعُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ٥٥55

    And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers.

    Listen from ayah 55
56. وَمَا خَلَقْتُ ٱلْجِنَّ وَٱلْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ٥٦56

    And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.

    Listen from ayah 56
57. مَآ أُرِيدُ مِنْهُم مِّن رِّزْقٍ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَن يُطْعِمُونِ٥٧57

    I do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed Me.

    Listen from ayah 57
58. إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلرَّزَّاقُ ذُو ٱلْقُوَّةِ ٱلْمَتِينُ٥٨58

    Indeed, it is Allāh who is the [continual] Provider,^[1548] the firm possessor of strength.

    Listen from ayah 58
59. فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ذَنُوبًا مِّثْلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصْحَـٰبِهِمْ فَلَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونِ٥٩59

    And indeed, for those who have wronged is a portion [of punishment] like the portion of their companions [i.e., predecessors], so let them not impatiently urge Me.

    Listen from ayah 59
60. فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن يَوْمِهِمُ ٱلَّذِى يُوعَدُونَ٦٠60

    And woe to those who have disbelieved from their Day which they are promised.

    Listen from ayah 60
